Jerry Adams is president and CEO of the Arkansas Research Alliance (ARA). ARA is entering its 10th year of operation. ARA is a public/private economic development non-profit modeled after the very successful Georgia Research Alliance. ARA is focused on recruiting, recognizing and retaining high impact university research leaders in Arkansas. ARA also has a strategic partnership agreement with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) laboratory, the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR), located in Jefferson, Arkansas.
Prior to ARA, Adams held a variety of senior leadership positions at Acxiom Corporation where he worked for 34 years.
Adams is very active in a wide variety of areas in Arkansas – the start-up community, STEM education, healthcare reform, economic development, for-profit and non-profits boards.
Each of the last three Arkansas governors have appointed Adams to Blue Ribbon Commissions – Higher Education (Huckabee), Healthcare (Beebe), Computing & Data Analytics (Hutchinson) – reflecting a strong commitment to Arkansas.
Jerry is married with two grown sons and four grandchildren. He and his wife, Madelyn, reside in Conway, Arkansas.
