Ivy V. Estabrooke is the executive director of the Utah Science, Technology and Research Initiative, the state of Utah’s technology based economic development agency. Following her appointment in 2014, Estabrooke led a strategic reorganization establishing new competitive grant programs, incubators and partnerships.
Previously, Estabrooke served as a program officer at the Office of Naval Research (ONR) in the Expeditionary Maneuver Warfare and Combating Terrorism Department where she managed an integrated portfolio of basic research through technology delivery to the operational force in social and computational science and led the Navy’s basic research portfolio in counter-IED. She has sat on multiple National Academies study boards, the ODNI Science & Technology Experts Group, was a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow and sits on multiple non-profit boards.
A cognitive neuroscientist by training, Estabrooke earned her Ph.D. in neuroscience from Georgetown University, an M.S. in national security strategy and resource management from the Eisenhower School of the National Defense University and a B.A. in biological sciences from Smith College.
