Jamie Davenport is the director of the Community Economic Development division at the Rural Business-Cooperative Service. Within this role, she leads a team of professionals conducting education and research on cooperatives and providing capacity building and training to distressed rural communities. Before joining USDA Rural Development, Davenport spent eight years at the Small Business Administration where she managed loan and grant programs to increase access to capital among underserved populations. Before SBA, Davenport was a financial analyst at the CDFI Fund. Originally from Illinois, she received her bachelor’s degree in economics from Illinois Wesleyan University and later a master’s degree in public administration from Virginia Tech.
