Geniphyr Ponce-Pore is the director of the Colorado State University Regional Hub Network and the workforce state specialist for CSU Extension. CSU’s Regional Hubs provide Colorado communities with a more local presence, facilitating the reciprocal exchange between the community and the university across research, teaching and engagement, and embedding the university in community. Ponce-Pore has over 25 years of professional experience in community, economic and workforce development in various strategic roles across the public, private and educational sectors. She was recruited into Colorado State University in 2010 to work in the Office of Engagement. Her diverse background provides a deep understanding of the interdependencies of economic, workforce and community development. With this, she is looking to redefine the role of higher education in the emerging landscape of workforce development.
Ponce-Pore has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy with a focus on values and social policy. She also holds two master’s degrees: a Master of Science degree in sustainable systems, where her studies focused on communities as complex adaptive systems; her second master’s degree is in adult education, with a focus on learning theory, learning transfer and experiential learning.
