Ellen Kahler became the Executive Director of the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund (VSJF) in late 2005. VSJF serves as the backbone organization for Vermont Farm to Plate, a 10-year cluster development effort to strengthen Vermont’s food system. The VSJF also engaged in cluster development activities to rebuild the forest products industry in the state and has just embarked on a new climate economy business initiative to support young, start-up entrepreneurs who are creating climate change solutions. Kahler currently serves on the Boards of the Working Lands Enterprise Fund, the Statewide Workforce Development Board, Energy Action Network, and the Vermont Sustainable Agriculture Council.
Kahler is a graduate of Bucknell University in Pennsylvania with a B.A. in political science and from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University with a master’s degree in public administration.
